One of the beautiful things about cooking, is the smell that remains after you bake a cake. About cakes and pies, there’s nothing like baking ginger bread, and fill it with strawberries, spices, and whatever comes into our way, to get a spectacular result. In this article, we will make a flipped pear cake, because it looks amazing served.
To prepare the flipped pear cake, we need:
- 1 and a half bar of butter, with no salt
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 3 peeled pears, sliced in 1 cm. pieces
- 2/3 cup of soft molasses
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup of ginger marmalade
- 1 ½ cup of flour
- 1 spoon of pumpkin pie spices mix. You can find it in the supermarket
We will first preheat the oven at 170°C, and butter a baking mold. You will have to melt the butter in a pan at mid fire. Put apart the hird part of it, in a bowl. Take half a cup of sugar and mix it with the res of the butter, and when it’s ready, put the mixture into the baking mold. Cover them with the slices of pear. You will remain a cup of pear, approximately, so you can cut it into little cubes.
We’re nearly done with our pie. Take the electric mixer, and mix the half cup of brown sugar remaining, and butter that you put apart in a bowl at the beginning. Add the eggs and the ginger marmalade. Add flour and spices and mix with the pear. Spread the resulting mixture over the pears in the mold, and put it in the oven for a over an hour.
