We are always looking for another way to prepare codfish, other than the typical sandwich. The Christmas Cod Tostada is a great twist, perfect for any occasion.

INGREDIENTS for Christmas Cod Tostada 

  • Olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • ¼ onion, cut in small cubes
  • 200 gr tomato, finely chopped in small cubes
  • 200 gr salt cod, shredded
  • 20 gr capers
  • 20 gr green olives, without pits
  • 20 gr güero chilies
  • 10 gr parsley, finely chopped


  • 100 gr of flour
  • 3 gr of baking powder
  • 10 gr of olive oil
  • 3 gr of dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • Coriander sprouts to decorate

Heat the oil. Sauté garlic and onion, add tomato and cook for 10 minutes. Add cod, capers, olives and chilies. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, remove from heat and add the parsley.

For tostadas: Mix all ingredients to form an elastic dough that does not stick to the table. Stretch the dough into a thin layer, cut into small rectangles and bake at 180 ° C for 8 minutes.

For assembly: Arrange a spoonful of cod on a tostada, add a little olive oil and garnish with cilantro sprouts.
